About SCORE
SCORE is the Standing Committee on Research Exchange within the International Federation of Medical Students' Association (IFMSA).
SCORE provides you with a unique possibility to experience a clinical or pre-clinical research in a foreign country. You are incorporated in a research team and conduct a research work under the supervision of a certain tutor. You will be guided through the basic principles of research, such as literature studies, collecting information, scientific writing, laboratory work, statistics and ethical aspects.
The research project itself deepens the specific knowledge in the field of your interest. The possibility of doing the research abroad contributes to the broadening of your professional and human horizon; it introduces a different approach to research, medical education, health care and ethics. You have the chance to learn and profit of foreign research experiences, technologies and know-how.
Through this international exchange program, SCORE hopes to contribute to the international co-operation and understanding between the medical faculties, research institutes and - last but not least - among the students and health care professionals as the human beings.
The program provides you with the possibility for an in-depth study in specific fields in medicine according to your preferences.
The duration of the research project are specified in the description of the project. Usually the projects last 4 to 6 weeks but some projects may last up to 6 months. The research exchange project is usually carried out in English or of course if you know Russian – in Russian.
